Helga L. Melchior

Helga L. Melchior, 85, entered into rest peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025 after battling with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born in Germany, moving to Georgia when she was 20 years old. Shortly after moving to Georgia she met the “Love of her Life”, her late husband of 59 years, Wolfgang Melchior, also from Germany. They became U.S. citizens in 1969 and lived happily in Martinez, Ga. for the rest of their lives. They each owned their own businesses, her a Beauty Salon and him a Bakery which were located side by side. Helga loved sewing, gardening, cooking and above all else she loved her family.

Helga is preceded in death by her husband, her mother, father and brother. Helga’s surviving relatives include her son, Eric Melchior (Audrey); daughter, Susan Wasden (Wayne); five grandchildren, Daniel (Holly), Jimmie, Cody, Carly (Zach) and Josh; and also seven great grandchildren and brother.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
