Hazel Judson Padula (nee Bowen) of Augusta, Georgia, aged 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, April 25th, 2021, at her home in Martinez, Georgia. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, on April 4th, 1947, to her parents Clarine (Shingler) and William Bowen Sr. Hazel attended Citadel Square Baptist Church and graduated from St. Andrews High School in Charleston. She excelled in art and piano, and marrying into the US Navy, she lived in Connecticut, New Jersey, Alabama, and near Pisa, Italy. She loved taking pictures and especially found joy in God's creation. Hazel was preceded in death by her father and mother, her brother, William “Bill” Bowen Jr., her first husband and father of her three children, Michael C. Fay I, and her second husband, Gerald J. Padula. She is survived by her three children Lauren Fay, Michael (Kimberly) Fay, and Wendy Fay, and her grandchildren; Ruby Abel, Angel Enriquez, Katherine Fay, Emelia Fay, Liam Fay, Bella Schuld and Asher Schuld, her Uncle Louis Bowen, her sister-in-law, June Bowen, her three nieces Becky, Beth, and Barbara, and many beloved cousins. All are welcome to join in a Celebration of Life Service to be held on Tuesday, May 11 at 4pm preceded by an open house visitation with the family beginning at 2pm at The Sanctuary, 4584 Cox Rd, Evans, GA 30809. Guests are encouraged to wear Spring colors. Flowers are welcome.
