Hattie Copeland

Hattie L. Copeland, age 82, of Augusta, passed away August 12, 2015 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Mary Utley; husband, Edward Copeland and brother, Lonnie Utley. She was a member of Gracewood Baptist Church and Crossroad Evangelist Church.She loved to shop, work in the garden and eat out with her family. She was born in Waynesboro, GA; she worked concessions for the Masters Golf Tournament for many years; she worked at Gracewood State Hospital and worked for the Richmond Co. Board of Education. She is survived by her children; Lynn Copeland, Dennis Copeland, Lisa Doyle, David Copeland and Dwain (Kathleen) Copeland all of Augusta; grandchildren, Memori, Alex, Hunter, Houston and Alexis; brother, Marion Utley; a close friend, Dan Arrington; a close cousin, Bernice Arrington. Family will receive friends Monday 6 pm to 8 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906. Services will be Tuesday 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Daughtry, officiating.Burial to follow in Hephzibah Vance Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Billy Goode, Tim Via, James Clark, James Utley, Michael Utley and Rodney Utley.Grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.
