Harris Horton

Augusta, Georgia – Mr. Harris Marvin Horton, of Augusta, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 30, 2013.He was 77 years old. Mr. Horton is survived by his wife, Linda “Lynn”Horton; three sons, Michael Horton (Amanda), of Whitmire, South Carolina, their children, Seth Horton, Corey Horton, and A.J. Horton, his son, Stephen Horton, of Augusta, Michelle, mother of children, Amber, Savannah, Stephen, Nathaniel, and Athena, and his son, Richard Siple, of North Augusta, South Carolina; his brothers, Clifford Horton, of Augusta, and Alton Horton, of Hazelhurst, Georgia.He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Horton. Mr. Horton was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a longtime member of Sherwood Baptist Church and was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will truly be missed by his family and friends.Prior to his retirement, he worked as a long distance truck driver. Funeral services for Mr. Horton were conducted on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Sherwood Baptist Church with Rev. Marion Jay and Rev. Jim Johnson officiating.
