Dr. Hadyn T. Williams, age 71, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away on September 22, 2024. Born on February 21, 1953 at Georgia Baptist in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the son of Al and Mary Williams. Hadyn grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He went to college at the University of Alabama, completed medical school at South Alabama, finished his residency at the University of California Los Angeles and a fellowship in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and then finally moved to Georgia, where he worked as a Nuclear Medicine Specialist in Atlanta, followed by Augusta. He loved Alabama football and his Alma Mater dearly. He cheered for the Crimson Tide during every game, rarely missing a chance to watch Bama play, and even drove a crimson colored T-Bird. Hadyn proudly said “Roll Tide!” every chance he could. He was a talented guitar player and a lover of music, especially the Allman Brothers. Hadyn relished science and the pursuit of knowledge, with a true desire to never stop learning that he passed on to his children. Hadyn is survived by his wife, Jo, his three daughters, Leah, Casey, and Nora, siblings Nancy and Tim, and many, many extended family members. Hadyn requested to be cremated. His ashes will be spread in places that were most important to him and those who loved him, including his favorite place in the world: Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Some of his ashes will be spread over his parents’ graves in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday, October 5, 2024. All family and friends who wish to attend this graveside service are welcome. A memorial service for Hadyn will be held at New Smyrna Beach, Florida during the annual family reunion in June 2025. Hadyn would not have wanted something formal, but something where his friends and family could celebrate his life together, all while listening to good music and enjoying each other’s company.
