Ms. Gudrun L. “Monica” Hinkle, an Augusta area resident since the early 1970’s, died on Thursday, September 10, 2009.She was 76 years old. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 14, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm and the memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm in the chapel of The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.Rev. Frankie B. May will officiate.Mrs. Hinkle was cremated and the burial will be a private service at a later date. Ms. Hinkle is survived by her daughters, Sandra Scott, of North Augusta, and Michelle Hinkle, of Augusta; her grandchildren, Vernon Gay JR., Brian Hinkle, Brianona Hinkle, and Marcus Hinkle; her sister, Isolde Huber, of Germany. Ms. Hinkle was born in West Germany on May 1, 1933.She was of the Catholic faith.She retired, after more than 25 years, as the manager of Olan Mills Portrait Studio.She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.Ms. Hinkle enjoyed keeping up with the cases on Judge Joe Brown and loved watching Dr. Phil.She loved a good cup of coffee.
