Georgiana C. Grayson

August 3, 1950 — September 21, 2021

Georgiana Corrado Grayson (71), Georgi was born on August 3, 1950, in Paterson, N.J., and entered into rest after a long courageous battle with cancer on September 21, 2021, surrounded by friends and family. She is survived by her children: Jennifer A. Grayson, Adam J. Grayson (Desiree), and Benjamin A. Grayson. Her brother-in-law: Mark E, Grayson and nephew: George A. Corrado (Kelly). She has 4 loving grandchildren that were the apple of her eye: Hailee J. Shepherd, Aidan J. Grayson, Avery J. Grayson, and Kynlee A. Grayson. She loved being a Nonna, watching her grandchildren grow, and loving on her two furbabies, Hercules and Thor. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bruce A. Grayson, her parents: George A. Corrado and Marion Constantino Corrado, and her brother: Frederick R. Corrado. Georgi grew up in South Florida and attended Madonna Academy. She went to college at Seton Hall University where she majored in Education. Georgiana went on to pursue a long career in the education system. She originally began her career in Catholic School and had the opportunity to teach for DODS in Germany during their station. It wasn’t until moving to Augusta, where “Miss Georgi” found her calling. She taught Preschool at Martinez United Methodist Church for 33 years. Miss Georgi was the Preschool Director as well as the Children’s Ministry Director for the church. Miss Georgi loved children and it was so passionate in their early learning, She fought a long and hard battle with Cancer. Mom was always willing to try any treatment and kept a smile on her face throughout the process. She was a fighter until the end and definitely our hero. We would like to personally thank all of the medical staff that have been with us on this journey. We have been so blessed for the Augusta University Cancer Center, Dr. Ghamande, and team, as well as all of the nurses in the infusion center who always had a smile. All of the wonderful nurses on 5 North and South Oncology at Augusta University that took such extra care of our mom. A memorial mass will be recited on Friday October, 1, 2021 at St. Teresa Catholic Church at 12:00 noon. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday October 1, 2021 at Martinez United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Martinez United Methodist Church in honor of “Miss Georgi.”
