Gary Pittman Morris

Martinez, GA. Gary Pittman Morris, age 63, of Martinez, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014, as a result of a car accident. Pittman was born April 22, 1951 in Americus, GA.He was the son of the late Claude Nathan Morris and Katherine (Austin) Morris, who resides in Stone Mountain, GA.He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Morris. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina in 1975 with a Political Science Major.He retired after 35 years with the CSX Rail Road as an Engineer. Besides his mother, he is survived by his children; W. Pittman (Jill) Morris of Martinez, GA., and Susan C. (Drew) Hebson of Alabaster, AL.; 4 grandchildren, Jackson, Emma, Samuel and AnnaGrace; 1 brother, Douglas Morris of Atlanta, GA.; 2 sisters, Kay Adams of Atlanta, GA., and Betsy Prince of Carrollton, GA. Memorial Services will be Friday 11 am at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, 1330 Monte Sano Ave., Augusta, 30904. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church’s “Mother’s Day Out”.
