Eurene Alexander Greenway

Eurene Alexander Greenway, 94, of Augusta entered into rest on Thursday, August 31, 2017. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Fleming Baptist Church with Rev. Winston Collins officiating, Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. A native of Rock Branch in Elbert County, Georgia, she attended school at Rock Branch High School where she played basketball and other sports. In 1944, she married her loving husband, James A. Greenway, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2000. Together they moved to Augusta in 1952 and continued to grow as a family. She was an active member of Fleming Baptist Church, being a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class. She participated in the Senior Citizens Breakfast Club (Sunrisers), and also Retiree #6 Camping Club. She was a beautiful soul, throughout her life, she was the rock of the family. She, alongside of her husband, contributed to their church, family, and community in so many ways and her legacy will be long admired and missed by many. She is survived by her children; Kay McKellar, Jimmy (Sharon) Greenway, and Carl (Brenda) Greenway. Grandchildren; Sarah McKellar, Alex (Samantha) McKellar, Justin Greenway, Erin (Evan) Mobley, Josh (Shelbi) Greenway, Charlotte Greenway, Jacob Greenway, Grace Greenway, and Caroline Greenway. Great-grandchildren; Adelyn, Grayson, Layla, Zoey. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 until the hour of service at Fleming Baptist Church.
