Mrs. Eula C. Broome, “Ma Broome”, entered into rest on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at her residence.She was a beloved grandmother, aunt, and friend.Mrs. Broome was 94 years old. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 24, at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Committal services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.Rev. Marion Jay will officiate.Pallbearers will be Bain Broome, Jeff Broome, Bruce Broome, Rudy Broome, Buzz Broome, and Rick Grubbs. Born in Allendale County, Mrs. Broome made Augusta her home in 1938.She was a member of Curtis Baptist Church.Above all else, she cherished her God, her family, and her friends. Mrs. Broome is survived by her sons, Bennie M. Broome and wife Diane of Augusta, GA, CharlieE. Broome and wife, Shirley of Augusta, GA; eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, five great - great grandchildren and family friend, Rachel Scurry. Mrs. Broome was preceded in death by her son, James W. Broome Sr, her granddaughter, Jacqueline Marie Broome, her great- grandsons, Barry Michael Broome and Bradley Steven Broome, and her great-great granddaughter, Jayle Ana Broome.
