Eugene Bryant

Eugene Bryant of Concord Court in Augusta, died on Monday, January 4, 2010.He was 78 years old. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 8, 2010from6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Richard Dendler will officiate. Committal services , with full military honors, will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Martha Bryant; his daughter, Phyllis Alger and her husband Robert of Martinez, Georgia; his sons, Michael Bryant and his wife Karen of Washington, Georgia, Byron Bryant and his wife Reba of McBean, Georgia; his sister, Muriel Bryant of Statesboro, Georgia; eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his parents, Ebb Bryant and Rosie Lee Rowland Bryant and his daughter Charlotte Gritman in 1998. Mr. Bryant was retired from the U.S. Army with twenty-seven years of service.He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.After his retirement , he was employed with Civil Service.Mr. Bryant was a past member of Fleming Masonic Lodge.
