Ernest James “Jim” Jimenez, 95, Veteran An exceptional man has gone to be with the Lord. Ernest James “Jim” Jimenez passed away on July 18, 2016. He was a decorated army veteran who served in WWII and the Korean Conflict, honored with many medals and citations which included a Bronze Star, Silver Star, and Purple Heart, all with Clusters, and Presidential citations while serving his country for 21 years. He was a member of the 2nd Ranger Battalion, Company B, the Boys of Pointe Du Hoc. He was at various times in his life a professional rodeo cowboy, rancher, and truck driver; a kind and fearless man who lived his life on his own terms, helped anyone he could help, and maintained a zest and interest for life that many never attain. He loved horses, hunting dogs, and cattle, and telling good jokes and mostly-true stories. He was truly one of a kind. He found his faith in Christ at the age of 87 and practiced it faithfully every day until the day he passed. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Maxine; four children (three sons and a daughter); four step-children, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He will be honored in a memorial service on the 29th of July at Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., Augusta, at 11 o’clock.Full Military Honors will be rendered.
