Proverbs 18:24“A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Ernest W. 'Ernie' Erdman passed into rest Monday, Oct 31, 2011. A retired Army NCO and a decoratedveteran of Vietnam and Gulf War 1, Ernie retired as an addictions counselor at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta, GA. Ernie was a life member of the N.R.A. and was also a competitive rifle shooter. He enjoyed motorcycling and was a member of the local chapter of A.R.M.Known for his generosity and love, Ernie was a mentor to many who suffered from alcoholism and drug addiction, giving countless hours to help others. He will forever be remembered in the hearts of all who have known him and loved him. Ernie is survived by his devoted wife Lee Miskimon of Hephzibah, GA, a loving mother, Maryjane Erdman of Townsend, WI; a loving sister, Laura Tilbury of Madison, WI and numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. An informal Remembrance Service will be held at Poteet Funeral Home, South, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, Ga. 30906 at 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 6, 2011.
