Edward A. Reel

Martinez, Ga. Mr. Edward A. Reel, 87, beloved husband of Germaine, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Mr. Reel was a native of Marion, NC. He was the son of the late John and Winnie Reel. In addition to his wife, surviving family members include daughters, Donna Reel Phillips, and Sheila Reel (Danny), and stepsons: James (Linda), John (Beverly) and Robert (Laurie) Johnson, as well as grandsons Stewart Scott and Matthew Edward Gurley. He is also survived by sisters, Jewell Day and Betty Jackson and a brother, Carl Reel. Mr. Reel proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. After an honorable discharge he became a NC State Highway Patrol Officer. He was later employed at SRP and eventually retired from Kimberly Clark. In accordance with his wishes Mr. Reel will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
