Edward Lee Garner

Edward Lee Garner, 85 entered into rest on Friday December 2, 2016 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict he received 2 Purple Hearts.Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday December 8, 2016 at Poteet Funeral Home-Chapel. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Full military honors will be accorded by the Ceremonial Detachment of Fort Gordon. Survivors include his wife Joan Garner; sons and daughters-in-law Richard (Debbie) Garner, James (Kathy) Garner; daughters and sons-in-law Susie (Cliff) Bostrom and Sandra (Bo) Jones; sister Geraldine (Trick) Vandiver; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father Nora (James) Moss , father Herbert Garner; great- granddaughter Karen Bostrom and a brother James Garner. The family will receive friends Thursday 1 hour prior to the service.
