Mr. Edward A. Compton Ret. Fire Fighter Washington, Ga. entered into rest July 23, 2012 at GHSU Augusta, Ga. Mr. Edward A. Compton, and 48 husband of Mrs. Tammy Reese Compton. Mr. Compton a native of Greenville, SC lived most of his life in the Augusta area. He was a member of Columbia County Christian Church and a Retired fire fighter from Appling Volunteer Fire Department. Additional survivors include his parents, Robert Edward & Brenda Wyatt Compton, Grovetown, Ga. Step son, JeremyM. Davis, Washington, Ga. Brothers, Kenneth R. Compton, Martinez, Ga. Roy A. Compton, Grovetown, Ga. Preceded in death his sister, Tammy L. Compton. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 12:00 noon at Columbia County Christian Church Pastor Michael Klause and Rev. Wallace Banks officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Sonny Wyatt, Ronnie Mulligan, David Sanders, Kenneth Compton, Roy Compton and Earl Roberts, Alex Hazuda, Les Kitchens.
