Edward J. Bailey Jr.

SSG/US Army Retired Mr. Edward J. Bailey Jr. of Hephzibah entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at his residence. He was 63 years old. The memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the home of his son and daughter-in-law. For directions please call the son at his residence 706-825-5426. The family will receive friends at the residence from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Mr. Bailey was born in Williamsport,PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Fannie Bailey. Survivors include,one daughter, Christine Bailey and David of Dearing, GA, two sons, Edward and Tabitha Bailey of Hephzibah,and Daniel Bailey and Cristina of Hephzibah. Six grandchildrenand one great-grandchild. Two sisters, Pat King and Sandy Rhea of Williamsport, PA. Two brothers,Jim Bailey of Delta Junction Alaska and Rick Bailey of Williamsport, PA. He served in the U.S. Army and received numerous medals, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Vietnam Campaign Medal ,Vietnam Service Medal, Overseas Service Bars-3, Good Conduct Medal-6, Overseas Service Ribbon-2, Army Service Ribbon, Noncommisioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon-3, Expert pistol .45, Sharpshooter rifle M-16.
