Edna Elizabeth Perkins Hammack, 98, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014, at North Spring Assisted Living in Claxton, Georgia.She was born to the late Arthur Gerrish Perkins and Ellen Anderson Perkins on November 22, 1915, in York Beach, Maine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Colonel Emory Rodham Hammack.Edna is survived by two sons, Emory (Sara) Rodham Hammack, Jr., of Dataw Island, South Carolina and Neal (Dee Ann) Perkins Hammack of Claxton, Georgia; grandchildren, Brett Hammack of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Heidi (Josh) Mikulecky of Seattle, Washington; great-grandchildren, Mikayla Hammack of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Maxwell Mikulecky of Seattle, Washington. Edna lived in Guam, Japan, and France before becoming office manager for the Veterinary Division at Ft. Gordon in Augusta, where she retired.She and her husband traveled extensively throughout Europe, the United States, and Canada. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 16, 11:00 a.m., at Eastside Baptist Church, 108 South Peters St., Claxton, Georgia, 30417.Please send all flowers to the church.
