Edith Lorraine Novotny

Edith Lorraine Novotny, 91, passed away in North Augusta, SC on January 21, 2018. Born August 26, 1926 to Percy Elias and Frances Mary Nelson (nee Ivins) in Melrose Park, IL. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Laddie Novotny on May 12, 2017, and her parents and brother, Roger Nelson. Survivors include her children Gail (Michael) Illuzzi, Peoria, IL, Paul (Kim) Novotny, Wheaton, IL and Lisa Jackson, Evans, GA, her grandchildren, Michael Illuzzi, Paul (Liza) Illuzzi, Caitlin (Brian) Huber, Kelsey Novotny, Alex Jackson (Lora Blake Curry), her great grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Mollie, Guy, Beau, her siblings William (Sandra) Nelson, Salem SC, John (Janet) Nelson, Savannah, GA, and Gail Stern, Hinsdale, IL and many wonderful nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was a graduate of Proviso Township High School in Maywood, IL and worked many years in the health care field. She was proud of becoming a Life Master in bridge. A member of Christ Church Presbyterian, her family will receive friends at a memorial gathering from 1-3 on Saturday, January 27 at McNeill Funeral Home in Martinez, GA. Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. Memorials may be made to University Hospital Foundation.
