Edith Ard

Mrs. Edith Ard Evans, GA. Mrs. Edith Ard, 88, wife of the late Reverend Flemon Jacob Ard, entered peacefully into rest Tuesday, January 26th, 2015. Mrs. Ard was born in Brittons Neck, SC, to Mr. Ruby Lee Richardson and Mrs. Anna Richardson. Before relocating to Evans, Mrs. Ard lived in Lakeland, FL, where she became a dutiful member of Abundant Life Church of God. Her life was devoted to doing mission work and teaching the word of God. She was named Teacher of the Year while teaching in Honduras; she was also a Girl Scout leader and leader of a ladies missionary group. She leaves behind her sons, R.L. Ard and Flemon Ard; daughters, Genie Byrd, Patricia McKelrey, and Judith Heath; brothers, Marvin Richardson; and sister, Martha Collins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 30th at Outland Church of God (22288 Choppee Rd, Hemingway, SC 29554). Interment will follow at Williams Hill Freeway Baptist Church (86 Williams Hill Rd. Hemingway, SC).
