Duane W. "Skip" Vanessendelft

Duane W. VanEssendelft “Skip”, 72, passed away on Tuesday June 27th, 2017 in his home in Evans, GA from bladder cancer. Skip was born in Bayshore, NY on October 17, 1944 to James Walter & Josephine Esther Kaan VanEssendelft. Skip grew up in West Sayville, NY until he married his High School sweetheart Barbara Ruth Schneck of Sayville, NY on May 29, 1965. After retiring from Suffolk County Water Authority, Skip and Barbara moved to Evans, GA. He is remembered for his passion of helping others as a lifetime member a Community Ambulance Company of Sayville, NY. His most enjoyable hobbies of golfing, clamming, boating, camping & Nascar brought him such joy, but his greatest pride was his family. Skip is survived by his wife Barbara of 52 years, son Scott and wife Jannine of Evans, Ga, son Jeff and wife Lisa of Blue Point, NY, daughter Lori and husband Chris of Midlothian, VA, daughter Jenn and husband John of Lexington, SC. His grandchildren Zachary, Sarah, Justin, Danny, Kassie, Jake, Ryan and Jack were his greatest joy. A celebration of his life will be held at the Woodlief Club House 5063 Wells Drive Evans, GA 30809 on Saturday July 8th, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
