Deborah "Deb" Erickson passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Augusta, Georgia on Saturday, September 3, 2011 after a 2 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer.Deb was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 26, 1958.She graduated from Hoover High School in 1976 and Grandview College School of Nursing in 1980, both in Des Moines.She obtained her Masters Degree in Nursing in 1991 from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.Deb worked for several health care providers across the 50 United States and completed her career at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia where she worked 1997-2009 as a Clinical Nurse Specialist supporting the Medical-Surgical and Critical Care Departments.Deb also served as an Adjunct Faculty at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia.Deb was a voracious reader, learner, and world traveler, often combining these passions with her career in nursing and education.Deb was predeceased by her father and mother, Robert Erickson and Lucille Erickson, and canine companions Jackson and Rosie.She is survived by her sister Diane Erickson of Larkspur, Colorado and her brother and sister-in-law David Erickson and Wendy Erickson of Overland Park, Kansas and their children Dr. Elizabeth Erickson of Chicago, Illinois and Anne Erickson of Columbia, Missouri and her canine companion Hoover.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Johns Hopkins Pancreatic Cancer Research, c/o Ralph H.
