Deborah Kay Burgess

Deborah Kay Burgess, 72, of Martinez, GA, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023. Kay was the daughter of Dorothy Harper and the late John L. “Jay” Harper, Sr., of Owensboro, KY. Kay loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Having cookouts and get togethers at her house with family and friends were some of her favorite times. She loved auctions, listening to all types of music, and frequenting the Waffle House to meet with friends. She was a very giving and selfless person. Her entire family and all her friends will miss her immensely. Family members include her husband: Michael D. Burgess; children: Lynett Hitt, William Inglett, II, James Inglett, and Tiffany Reeves; grandchildren: Shannon (Trevor) Overton, William Inglett, III, Dalton Inglett, Emily Hitt and Jacey Powell; great-grandchild: Grayson Inglett; siblings: Lana Harper of Owensboro, KY, Sherree (David) Wall of Owensboro, KY, and John Harper, Jr. of Newburgh, IN; and cherished nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 2 pm, in the Chapel of Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Pastor Rickey McCaslin officiating.
