David Gordon Daniel

January 28, 1940 — April 23, 2015

David Gordon Daniel joined his Heavenly Family on April 23, 1015, peacefully with his wife by his side. David was born at the old University Hospital on December 28th, 1940 to Hartley Louis Daniel and Mary Uhl Daniel. His parents and first-born son David Gordon Daniel, Jr. and brother Herbert Louis Daniel predecease him. Many aunts and uncles have before him to prepare his place in heaven. He is survived by his wife of 49years Linda Gayle Bland Daniel, (they just celebrated their anniversary) and his two sons, Jeff G. Daniel and Glenn A. Daniel. He leaves behind his granddaughter Angela Nicole Wade and his two special pals, Casey (his German Shepherd) and Tucker (his son’s Beagle Tucker). David graduated from ARC in 1960, worked for the Augusta Chronicle since age 10 delivering papers until he stopped at delivering over 600 papers per day. He joined his uncle’s firm doing commercial heating and air conditioning until he retired from Columbia Sheet Metal after having heart problems. Though David was baptized a Methodist at St. James Methodist Church, he often attended the Baptist churches with her in their area. They were looking forward to returning to West Acres Baptist Church with Brother Larry Harmon who has helped them in many ways. The family will have a private viewing on Monday, April 27, 2015, and open visitation on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM. There will be a graveside service for family and friends on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 11:00 AM conducted by Reverend Larry Harmon at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hononary pallbearers will be Marvin Cloud, Tallahassee, Fl (a cousin of Linda); Mark Chapman, Eddie Nobles, Sam Testino, Steve Jones of Evans, Han Davis of Charleston, SC, Dale White of Macon, GA., and Greg Ballard ( a nephew of Linda).
