Courtney Nicole Bell walked through Heaven’s gates the morning of Good Friday, March 29, 2024. Courtney was born in Augusta, Georgia on March 4, 1987. She attended Hammond Hills Elementary School in North Augusta until she was 21, and then Tri-Development in Aiken. Although Courtney’s body limited her abilities on earth, she had a smile that would light up any room and a laugh that was contagious. She could not talk; however, she could easily express her love with a look your way or a beautiful grin. She was extremely tough, enduring medical procedures that would have brought most grown men to their knees. She helped teach those who loved her about how to have kindness and patience with others, how to find the joy in simple things, and how to follow Jesus’s words of caring for “the least of these.” Because of the loving day-to-day dedication and care she received from her mother and father, Courtney lived a life that surpassed everyone’s expectancy, by far. Loving Courtney was easy because of her precious spirit. Although there will be a huge void in the lives of the people who loved her, we rejoice that Courtney is now taking in the sights of Heaven. Survivors include her mother Teresa (Joey) Whitesides, her father Mike (Amy) Bell, sister Allison Bell, brother Andrew Bell, grandmothers’ Patricia Ochiltree, Dr. Anne Bell, and Beth Talbert, aunts Patricia Dockery and Missy McEliece Stone, Uncle Brian and Aunt Connie Bell, Uncle Dean and Aunt Pam Ochiltree, special family members Olivia and Jacob Whitesides, and a host of beloved cousins. She was predeceased by grandparents William and Anna McEliece, Reverend David Bell, and Larry Ochiltree, Aunt Rose Williams, and Uncle Carl McEliece. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Church in Lincolnton, Georgia with Reverend Billy Pittman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Paul Church, 3235 Thomson Highway, Lincolnton, GA 30817.
