Clarence Clifton Darlington

Augusta, Georgia - Mr. Clarence Clifton Darlington, age 66, retired Vietnam Vet, recipient of the Purple Heart, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in his home surrounded by family. There will be a joint memorial service held at the VFW Post 649 on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. for Mr. Darlington and his wife, Lynda L. Darlington.Dr. Kevin Steele will officiate. Mr. Darlington is survived by his children, Clarence C. and Julie Darlington, of Augusta, Mary C. and Andy Thornton, of Augusta, and Edward A. and Carla Darlington of Gibson, Georgia.Additional survivors include, Dominic and Alisha Sagen of New Port News, Virginia, Clarence C. and Christina Darlington of Augusta, Shawn M. Sagen, Jesse A. Sagen, Lynda M. Darlington of Augusta; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.Mr. Darlington was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Lynda L. Darlington, and his parents. Mr. Darlington was a member of the VFW Post 649 and the American Legion Post 178. The family suggests that memorials be made to the VFW Post 649, 2430 Windsor Spring Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906.
