Christine Barksdale Neal

Christine Barksdale Neal, 93, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on December 25, 2023. Born on May 6, 1930 in Elberton, GA. She was the daughter of late Horace and Lessie Barksdale.Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters Helen Barksdale, Gladys Binns, Gussie Hale, and Junior Barksdale. She is survived by daughter Charlene and Al Montgomery, Grandchildren; Blake Montgomery, Jessi Law, and Nathan Montgomery. Great grandchildren; Mazie Montgomery, Isaac Law, Elaine Law, Asher Law, and Evelyn Law. Niece and Nephew; Susan Hale Zeluff and Scott and Debbie Hale. She loved traveling, gardening, sewing, cooking, and attending church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved going on trips with the Limber Ladies group in Winfield, GA. She was a member of Sharon Baptist church in Appling, GA and loved her pastor Andy Collins and church family. She loved Southern Hospitality and cooking meals for family and friends. She often carried meals to shut-ins and others in the community. She never meet a stranger and kept everone around her laughing. Funeral will be held at Sharon Baptist Church, Highway 150, Appling, GA, 30802, January 2, 11AM.
