Christine Fortney Bryant

Christine Fortney Bryant, age 100, of Augusta, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was born September 15, 1914, in Dry Branch, WV to the late Bruce and Focie Mae Miller Hawks.She was a member of HIS Community Church where she was a member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bryant; 2 daughters, JoAnn Maher and Sue Melton; 3 sons, Harry Fortney, Jimmy Fortney and Frank Fortney. She is survived by her son, Paul “Skip” Fortney; daughter-in-law, Ruth M. Fortney and son-in-law, Gary W. Melton, Sr.; 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 35 great great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday 10 am to 11 am at HIS Community Church, 3358 Peach Orchard Rd., Augusta, 30906, with services to follow at 11 am with Pastor Steve Norsworthy, officiating.Burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.Please have all flowers delivered to the church.
