Cheryl Ann Schmidt went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 from Piedmont Hospital in Augusta Georgia. Cheryl was 73 years of age, born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania and resided in Augusta, Georgia. She is survived by her husband Clifford Herman Schmidt Jr., her children Thomas Henry Clark Jr., John Edward Clark, and Jennifer Ann Neal, her grandchildren Robert Russell Clark Jr., Zachary Thomas Clark, Alexander Jacob Clark, Nathaniel Neal, Kaylee Neal, and Joshua Neal, and three great grandchildren. Cheryl was predeceased in death by her mother Laura Ann Gray, her father John Edward Margita, and her son Robert Russell Clark Sr. Cheryl was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent most of her life working as a licensed practical nurse who was dedicated to caring for her patients and others. She was also involved with both The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America where she served as a Troop Leader in the Girl Scouts and as a den mother for the Boy Scouts. If she was alive today she would say that her greatest accomplishment was raising her children and her fur babies. She retired from nursing at the age of 65 and enjoyed many wonderful years of retirement where she loved to spend time with her husband and family in Helen, Georgia. Cheryl also enjoyed traveling the world and experiencing many new and exciting places. The family is planning a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of Cheryl on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 7:00 PM in the park at Lady Antebellum Pavilion in Evans, Georgia. Any and all friends and family are welcome to attend. All memorial flowers and gifts should be sent to her surviving husband, Clifford.
