Mrs. Cheryl Ligon Correia, of Hephzibah, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 5, 2012.She was 55 years old. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 7, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Dan Collins will officiate. Mrs. Correia is survived by her husband, Robert Correia; her mother in law, Hilda Correia; her children, Augustus Briscoe O’Neal IV (Sherry), of Thomson, William “Randy” Love, (Nicole), of Dearing, Abby Franco, and Daniel O’Brien; her grandchildren, Cameron and Clayton O’Neal, William and Madelyn Love, Cheyenne and Leeanne Franco, Taylor O’Brien; her mother, Margaret Byers, her step-father, Cliff Martin; her brothers, Larry Ligon, Paul Ligon; her sisters, Melba Dismuke, Pam Caywood, Kathy Ligon; her pets, Charlie, Lucy, and Lady.Mrs. Correia was preceded in death by her father, Earl Ligon. Mrs. Correia was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and raised in Augusta, Georgia. She was employed at Riverplace of Port Royal Condominiums for nearly twenty years as well as other places, but her heart and love was being with her family. She enjoyed the outdoors and camping. She was a one hundred percent dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Local Chapter, 2607 Commons Blvd, Augusta, Georgia, 30909, and the CSRA Humane Society, 425 Wood Street, Augusta, Georgia, 30904.
