Charlotte Brigham Johnikin 82, beloved wife of John Johnikin entered into rest on Monday September 10, 2018 at Kentwood Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday September 14, 2018 at Silvercrest Baptist Church , 3431 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta with Rev. John Kilpatrick and Rev. Dr. Roy Head officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers Mark Peace, David Peace, Tommy Stringfield , Jessie Padgett, Edward James , Dakota Sims and Jimmy Beatty.Born in Girard, GA, she attended Georgia Southern University and Augusta College. She was a retired teacher with 31 years of educational service to the Richmond County Board of Education. A member of the Richmond County Retired Teachers Association, member of the Georgia Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include her husband; brother Charles C. Brigham, Jr.; sister June Eastmead; grandchildren Brandon Matthew (Emily) Johnikin and Brittany Carroll; sisters-in-law Minnie Grooms, Amy McDonald and Shirley Reynolds; daughter-in-law Donna Johnikin. Preceded in death by sons Terry L. Johnikin and Russell B. Johnikin; daughter Patricia L. Johnikin; sister Willie Louise Brigham Cawley. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Thursday evening at Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.
