Carey is survived by his wife and best friend, Phyllis Martin; his sons, Reynold Borseth andGwen, of Appling, Glen Martin andEvelyn, of Augusta, Todd Smith and his wife, Rhonda, of Augusta, and Raymond Borseth and his wife, Joan, of Grovetown; daughters, Lourie Redfern and her husband, Tommie, of Augusta, Rachel Myers of Orlando, Florida, Donna Meadows and her husband, Jimmy Lee, of Augusta, Susan Borseth of Augusta, Sherry Blanco of Augusta, and Charlene Dykes of Rock Hill, South Carolina; his brother, Mitchell LaGrand Martin and his wife, Bobbie,; his sister, Rhonda Sellers and her husband, Leroy, of Whiteville, North Carolina; nineteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Carey was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Dorothy Martin; his son, Michael; two grandsons, Reynold Jr., and Brian. Carey was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.For over 43 years, he owned Martins Barber Shop.He was very active in local politics and a member of the Sheriff’s Department Merit Board.He was also a member of the Henpeck Club.
