Mr. Braddock K.Kyzer Sr., loving husband of the late Hazel Veal Kyzer, died on Friday, June 17, 2011, at his home in Hephzibah.He was 90 years old. The family will receive friends today, Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Poteet Funeral Home 3465 Peach Orchard Rd. Augusta. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, June 20 at 11:00 at Hephzibah Baptist Church, 2527 State Highway 88, Hephzibah. Mr. Kyzer’s body will lie in state at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. The committal service will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Rev.Dan McGill and Rev. Steven Kyzer will officiate. Mr. Kyzer’s grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Kyzer is survived by his sons, John Kyzer, of Waynesboro, and Brad Kyzer and his wife, Deborah, of Waynesboro; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister, Frances Watson; and one brother, Robert Kyzer.Mr. Kyzer was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Hampton Kyzer and Viola Lybrand Kyzer; two sisters and seven brothers. Mr. Kyzer was born in Lexington, SC and grew up in Laurens County, Georgia.He was a resident of Augusta for the past 50 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II, he later worked and retired from SRP as a Machinist. Mr. Kyzer enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and looking after his pine trees. The family wishes to thank Ms. Betty Walker for being a dedicated caregiver to both Mr. and Mrs. Kyzer.
