Bobby J. Carroll, age 88, entered into rest on Monday, September 23, 2024. Mr. Carroll was born in Augusta, Ga. to the late Roy Carroll and the late Mary Carroll. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Rachel Carroll, a brother, Roy Carroll, Jr., a son in law, Richard Sutton, and a great grandson, Trey Sutton. He was a devoted husband, father, Papa, and brother. Survivors include four children, Bobby Carroll, Jr., Beth White (Ronnie), Clint Carroll, and Regina Pruitt (Edison). Grandchildren are Miles Sutton (Lyndsie), Blake Sutton, and Mary-Beth Waters (Benjamin). Great grandchildren include Avery Sutton, Hayden Sutton, Baylor Sutton, Strider Waters, and Winry Waters. He is also survived by a brother, John Carroll, (Elizabeth), and two nieces. Mr. Carroll was a member of Trinity on the Hill Methodist Church. He was the manager of the parts department at Johnson Motor Company in Augusta for over 40 years. He and his wife were fortunate to be able to travel worldwide with General Motors. He loved the game of golf and had a weekly tee time with family members at the "cabbage patch" in Augusta. He enjoyed the Masters tournament and was able to attend many times over the years. He was also a die hard Atlanta Falcons fan. A service will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, September 27, 2024 in the chapel at Trinity on the Hill Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Hearn and Rev. Roy McVeigh officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens in North Augusta, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
