Mr. Billy Way Sr. Mr. Billy Way Sr., a resident of Perkins, Georgia, died on Sunday, May 31, 2009.He was 77 years old.Billy was preceded in death by is loving wife, Beverly Blanos Way, in October of 2008. The memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.Rev. Mark Joyner will officiate.The family received friends following the memorial service at the funeral home.Billy was cremated and the burial will be a private service at a later date. Billy is survived by his sons, Billy Way Jr. and his wife, Paige, and Paul Dennis Way and his wife, Brenda, of Columbia, South Carolina; his daughters, Aly Way of Columbus, Georgia, Traci Way Brown and her husband, Mark, of Perkins; five grandchildren, Katie Way Brown, Kenzie Way, Ellen Paige Way, Reese Way, Adams Way; close family friends, Tye Tipton, Henry Hammock, Cathy Smith, and Franklin Smith; his sisters, Netta Kennedy and Barbara Jean Robertson and her husband, Jimmy; his brothers, John Almon Way and his wife, Verna, Jerry Carroll Way and his wife, Mabel; his brother-in-law, Richard Blanos; sisters-in-law Rene Blanos Crunkleton and her husband, Gary, and Jamie Blanos Weeks and her husband, Michael; many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents, Lee Vilas Way Sr. and Katie Christmas Way; his brother, Lee Vilas Way Jr. Billy was a native of Sumter, South Carolina.He attended Waynesboro Church of God.He served in the United States Army.Billy was a sheet metal worker and craftsman.While working at the Savannah River Site for Dupont and later Bechtel, Billy was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union and had served as the union president.He retired in 1992.He was a hunter and fisherman and an occasional golfer.He was deeply devoted to his family and friends and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
