Betty Willhite McAllen Entered into eternal rest on July 8, 2012, at the age of 76.Mrs. McAllen was a retired nurse and a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Augusta, GA. Mrs. McAllen is survived by her four daughters Sally (John) Parsons of Augusta, GA, Billie Green of Huntsville, AL, Patricia (Jasper) Welsch of Madison, MS and Michelle (Gary) Phillips of Blackhawk, MS.Her sisters, Diane Willhite of Jacksonville, FL,Joyce Hendrick of Folkston, GA and brother, George Willhite of Peel, AR.Proceeded in death by her parents, James L. Willhite and Cora Jane (Thompson) Willhite, her brothers Charles, Jessie and Raymond and sisters Janie, Mable, Margaret, Mary, Faye and Beatrice and grandson Christopher James Parsons. Also survived by her twelve grandchildren, Lucas Sparks, Dorothy Swafford, Adam Clayton Green, Gary Phillips Jr., Amber Parsons, Jessica Sturdivant,Lindsey McDowell, Virginia Parsons,Ashley Thomas, Lisa Parsons, Evan Phillips and Thomas Welsch. Eleven great grandchildren Gibb and Ashton Thomas, Ayla Sturdivant, Trent Green, Charlie McDowell, Dokata and Jalisa Parsons and Alexander and Alana Lewis Danika Mincey and Darrell Mincey Jr.As well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. McAllen enjoyed powder puff derby in her late teens and early twenties.She loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, painting and numerous other crafts.Mrs. McAllen was also a huge fan of Bluegrass music. Memorial services will be held in the near future at Mrs. McAllen’s hometown of Teoc, MS.
