Betty Rosamond Kennedy Estilette, 89, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, 2014.Betty was born in Augusta on March 14, 1925 to Walter and Leola Rosamond. She was married to Clyde F. Kennedy until his death in 1980. She is survived by her two children Kenneth F. Kennedy (Norma) and Sandra Kennedy Tatum (David), and by her husband Alvin J. Estilette and two step children Elaine E. Cox (Alan) and Mike Estilette (Sandy). She has 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was wife and mother extraordinaire and loved her family with all her heart, and gave her all in making a home for them. She taught her children to love God, family and country, to show respect to others and to be good and grateful citizens. She was a loving and a devout Christian, and a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church, 2860 Wells Dr., Augusta, Ga. 30906.Betty worked hard in her church, in her children’s schools, and as a school lunchroom manager (for over 20 years), where she was loved by teachers and students alike. She was a caring and compassionate person who recognized the needs of those around her and sought to help however she could. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out and a godly example to everyone she knew. We loved her so very much and we always will. We will miss her until we are reunited with her in heaven. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2860 Wells Rd, Augusta, 30906, with the Reverend Michael Freed officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., Augusta, 30906.
