Bertron Beard

Bertron Beard passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by loved ones, on Monday, March 14, 2025.

Born on July 25, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia, to Joseph and Madora Beard. Bertron proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. After his military service, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Augusta Technical College. Bertron went on to have a distinguished 30+ year career as an engineer with Georgia Power, where he played a key role in the development of Augusta’s power grid.He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Grace, and his brother Joseph.Bertron will be deeply missed by his partner of thirty years, Ms. Kum Buggs, as well as her children and grandchildren, whom he loved as his own.He is survived by his sister Debbie; his son, Bertron (Jessica) Beard; his daughters, Ashley (James) Williams and Aasha (Greg) Beard; his sister-in-law, Iris Beard; and five grandchildren: Bertron III, Raymond, Jadon, Chance, and Ava. He also leaves behind two step-grandchildren, Elise and Mason, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.Bertron will be remembered for his dedication, quiet strength, and the deep love he had for his family.
