Bernice H. Greer

Bernice H. Greer passed away on Monday October 16, 2023 after a battle with kidney disease. Bernice was the youngest of four children born to William and Hermine Hughes thereby giving her the nickname “Baby”. Bernice attended Immaculate Conception School for 12 years, after which she attended Paine College where she received her bachelor’s degree. She went on to be a teacher at Richmond Academy. She was married to the late Cortez Greer and the late George Brooks Jr. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her two brothers, William and Norman Hughes, She is survived by her sister Kathleen Dukes of Jacksonville, Florida, her sister-in-laws Helen Hughes and Cynthia Hughes, 3 nieces - Andrea Dukes, Brigitt (Keenan Mann), and Samantha Hughes. She is also survived by one nephew Anthony Dukes, and great nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and her devoted best friend, Sylvia Edwards. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday October 25, 2023 at 12 noon at Hillcrest Memorial Park Services rendered by McNeil Funeral Home 3507 Wrightsboro Rd. Augusta, GA.
