Bernard Eugene Piaia

Bernard Eugene Piaia 78 passed away peacefully after battling a long illness on February 5th 2024. He was the son of the late Anthony William Piaia and Graciela Castillo de Piaia. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marlene Howay Piaia and his children Marlene Bernadette Guzman (Arthur) his son Anthony William Piaia and his 6 beautiful grandchildren, Carolina (EJ), Lourdes, Christopher, Anthony, Aubrey and Haley. His three sisters, Frances Hill, (Mike) Maryann McCumbers (Kenneth) and Grace Ring (Stephen)and his nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by both of his parents and his nephew Jeremy Spivey. Mr Piaia was born in Curundu, Panama March 16, 1945. He lived for many years in Miami, Florida and then moved to the Augusta Area. He was a member of St. John Neumann Church in Miami Florida and a member of the Knights of Columbus. The family would like to give a big thanks, to Affinis Hospice group for the compassionate care and support through his final days. A Mass will be held on Thursday February 15, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2607 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA. A mass will also be on February 20, 2024 at 12 pm at St John Neumann Church 12125 SW 107th CT. Miami, Florida. In lieu of Flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
