Mrs. Arsinia Rios Diaz Mrs. Arsinia Rios Diaz, of Hephzibah, entered into rest on Monday, September 27, 2010.She was 84 years old. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 1:00 until 3:30 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The funeral service will follow the visitation on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.Committal services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Following the committal service, friends are invited to join the family at Hillcreek Community Clubhouse, 3006 Hillcreek Drive, Augusta 30909. Mrs. Diaz is survived by her daughters, Rosa M. Lane and her husband, Jerry, of Dallas, North Carolina, Dinah D. Guilfoyle and her husband, Joe, of Hephzibah, and Arsinia D. Sumpter and her husband, Douglas, of Augusta; her sons, Luis A. Perez and his wife, Sherry J., of Aiken, and Miguel A. Diaz and his wife, Robin, of Augusta; her sister and brother-in-law, Maria A. and Pedro Rodriguez, of Ocala, Florida; her brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Audrey Rios, of San Juan, Puerto Rico; her grandchildren, Stephen, Brian, Mickey, Stephanie, Michael Jr., Nicholas, Michael, Mandy, Jacob, Matthew, Sylvester, Gavin, Brycen, Jonathan, and Joseph Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Emily, Brooke, Kayla, Avery, Psymon,Trey, Bailee, Madison, Trystin, Dylan, Savannah, Gage, Savannah, Kaden, and Ava Grey. Mrs. Diaz was married, on June 11, 1955, to the late Miguel Diaz Cartagena.He preceded her in death shortly after their fiftieth wedding anniversary, on July 7, 2005.She was also preceded in death by her parents, Emiliano and Rosa Rivera Rios. Mrs. Diaz was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.She was an active member of the Hispanic Ladies Group. An avid bowler, she was a member of the Women’s Bowling Association.She enjoyed being a seamstress; nothing gave her more pleasure than the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
