April Dawn Mitchem

Appling, GA - April Dawn Mitchem, age, 47 passed from this life to be with Jesus on January 23, 2023 at her home with her husband and cousin, Beth Sheppard, by her side. She is survived by her son Devin (Jessalyn) Mitchem, daughter Jaysa (Jeremy) Biggar, Granddaughter Jovie Grace Biggar, and parents Randy and Karen Blizzard. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard and Rev. Alice Sheppard, John and Bernice Blizzard. April served as co-pastor and worship pastor at Revivify Church for 12 years alongside her husband Jason Mitchem. She was also a successful Realtor with Douglas Lane Real Estate Group in Augusta. But all who knew her, recognized that her true passion was worship to our Lord and Savior Jesus. Serving the body of Christ alongside her parents since 11 years of age in Sunday School and music. She spent many years serving as music director at First United Pentecostal Church for her Pastors and Aunt/Uncle, Wesley and Sheri McClain. Her music ministry also included precious time with her parents at Praise Tabernacle in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her real joy in this life were her children and their spouses second only to the grandbaby of her dreams little Jovie.
