Mrs. Ann Beard Mrs. Ann Beard, of Augusta, died on Wednesday, June 16, 2010.She was 60 years old. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 21, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.Family and friends will line up at 3033 Angela Street, Augusta, on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. for the procession to the funeral home.Rev. Willie James will officiate.Pallbearers will be David Beard, Alden Beard, Marcus Beard, David Jackson, and the deacons of First Shiloh Baptist Church.Committal services will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Beard is survived by her parents, Willie and Sarah Bussey of Augusta; four children, Alden L. Beard and his wife Kenya, Shavondria Beard Davis, Sharon Beard Jackson and her husband David, and David D. Beard all of Augusta; her sisters, Lula, Sherry, Rose Marie, her brother, Johnny; six grandchildren, Keith Davis Jr., Jason Davis, Christopher Beard, Derrick Jackson, Bradley Jackson, Jalen Beard, and a host of close friends.Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her husband, James Beard in 1998. Mrs. Beard was a member of First Shiloh Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement in February of 2006, she was employed with the Richmond County Department of Family and Children Services with 28 years of service.She was an awesome, loving, and useful Nana, a wonderful Mother and devoted friend.
