Mrs. Alice Hammett Widow of M.B. Hammett Warrenville, South Carolina ------ Mrs. Alice Hammett of Warrenville, South Carolina passed away at her home on Sunday, April 4, 2010.She was 87 years old. The family will receive friends today, Tuesday, April 6, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.Rev. Phillip Napier will officiate.The committal service will follow in the family plot at West View Cemetery.Rev. Todd Blackwell will officiate at the committal service.Mrs. Hammett’s grandsons will be pallbearers. Mrs. Hammett is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Miriam Hammett, Michael and Sarah Hammett; her sister, Willie Maude Drake; her grandchildren, Larry (Kayce) Hammett, Gary Hammett, Rachel (Brandon) Spradley, Brian (Carla) Hammett, Chris (Michelle) Hammett, Lisa (Gary) Lanier; her great-grandchildren, Hunter Hammett, Kassidy Hammett, Kade Hammett, John Duncan, Kathlyn Hammett, Karalyn Hammett, Tyler Lanier, Justin Hammett, Ashton Hammett, Madison Hammett, Joshua Hammett, Cody Hammett.She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 45 years, Mr. M.B. Hammett, in 1985. Mrs. Hammett was retired from United Merchant Bath Mills after more than 40 years of service.
