Alfred "David" Cochran

December 26, 1962 — May 19, 2024

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth…" Dad was able to take his final flight from this earth on May 19th, 2024. Heaven gained a loving husband, grandfather, father, brother, son, and Airman. Alfred “David” Cochran, a native of Flowery Branch, Georgia, and son of Betty Cochran and the late Fred Cochran, went home to be with Jesus. Although we know there is much rejoicing there, we cannot help but miss him dearly. We are eternally grateful that he is resting peacefully with his Lord and Savior and is catching up on hunting and fishing with his dad. After graduating from Johnson High School, he proudly served his beloved country as a civil engineer in the United States Air Force from 1981-1985. During his service, he met and married his devoted wife of 42 years, Tanya “Francine” (Dodd) Cochran. David went on to work as a machinist, a small business owner, a motorcycle mechanic, and even earned a degree as a Journeyman Millwright as part of his 15+ years at SKF. David spent his free time hunting, fishing, camping, and riding motorcycles. He spent multiple years as a member of Chapter D of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) in Gainesville, Georgia. After moving to Taliaferro County in recent years, he became an active member of Raytown Baptist Church. David loved serving his community and living in the area. He lit up every room he entered, never met a stranger, and was always more than happy to help others in any way he could. He is survived by his wife Francine Cochran, his mother Betty Cochran, sisters Darlene Sheridan and Donna Farist, children Erik (Sheree) Cochran and Renae Cochran (Ash Rahman), granddaughters Bre’Ana Bingham and Aurora Rahman, and loads of extended family and dear friends he loved so much. Join us in celebrating our family's hero at Raytown Baptist Church, 4641 Raytown Rd NE, Crawfordville, GA 30631, on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024 at 2 PM.
